Beef Bouillon to Flavor Turkey Meat

This is THE BEST ground turkey taco meat! It's made with two secret ingredients that make it taste amazing. You'll love this way of cooking ground turkey!
I'm obsessed with this ground turkey taco meat, and I promise that as soon as you try it, you will be too.
The reason this ground turkey tastes so incredible is because it has two secret ingredients.
The first is strained tomatoes . The strained tomatoes add an amazing layer of flavor and help keep the turkey from tasting dry. Readers have told me that tomato soup also works well!
The second ingredient is bouillon. My favorite bouillon to use in this recipe is beef bouillon , but chicken and vegetable bouillon also work.
The addition of strained tomatoes and bouillon makes the best turkey seasoning. It adds so much flavor! You won't believe how good ground turkey tacos made with this recipe are.
How to Cook Ground Turkey:
Cook and brown the ground turkey in a lidded skillet and drain off the excess juices before adding any seasoning. Then add all of the seasonings and let it simmer for a few minutes. It has the best texture when you cook it and season it in two separate steps.
How to Brown Ground Turkey:
To brown ground turkey, add raw ground turkey to a heated and oiled skillet. Cook the turkey until it's cooked through. It will be a whitish gray color. Continue cooking until you notice that it starts browning. The browning is a caramelization of the meat. It adds a lot of flavor to the finished taco meat and I wouldn't skip this step.
How Long is Cooked Ground Turkey Good For?
Cooked ground turkey will keep in an airtight container in the fridge for 3 to 4 days.
How Many Calories are in Ground Turkey Taco Meat?
This recipe makes eight servings. Each serving (including the seasonings and oil) is roughy 136 calories. Without the seasonings or oil, each serving would be roughly 102 calories.

What you'll need:
There are two ingredients and one tool that make all the difference in creating the best ground turkey taco meat ever.
The first ingredient is strained tomatoes . It adds amazing flavor and stops the ground turkey from tasting dry. This is the brand I use for all of my cooking and I wholeheartedly recommend it (it also makes the best pizza sauce)!
The second ingredient you'll need is really good beef bouillon . Adding in bouillon takes the flavor of this ground turkey completely over the top into "Wow!" country. This is by far my favorite beef bouillon. It's a better price when you buy a pack of two, so that's what I normally do.
The only tool you need for this recipe is a good lidded heavy-bottomed skillet . I use cast iron for all cooking like this, and this is the skillet I'd recommend . I love that it's so versatile and so affordable! The lid actually converts into a skillet, so this affordable set can be used as a skillet, dutch oven, or fryer .
